UPDATE: Coronavirus Closing Procedures
In response to the virus we will be enforcing new Real Estate Closings Procedures
Nothing is more important to us at Carlton Sadler Law than the health and safety of our clients, staff, vendors, and their families. We recognize that we play an integral role in the real estate industry and must remain open and available to service the needs of our clients.
Therefore, we have established Operational Closing Procedures to help keep everyone safe:
**Hand Washing/Sanitizing: Guests are encouraged to use hand sanitizer and/or wash hands upon arrival at our office. Hand sanitizer will be available for use at the closing.**
Arriving to the Closing:
Building Access: Our building has been closed to the general public. Please call us at
678-784-4028 to let us know that you have arrived. Someone from our office will come to escort you to the closing.
Exchange of Items: Any items of exchange, including keys, garage door openers, etc. must be sanitized and placed in a ziplock bag before arriving to the closing.
Symptomatic Clients: Any guest who exhibits symptoms that may be like coronavirus (fever, cough, shortness of breath, etc.) must notify staff upon arrival and we will escort out of common areas into a private closing room.
Staggered Closings: Buyer and Seller will sign their respective closing documents at separate times:
- Seller must arrive to the closing 30 minutes prior to the scheduled closing time to sign the necessary documents. Seller proceeds can be mailed or delivered express mail or wired, additional fees for overnight mail or wire will be applied.
- Buyers must arrive at the scheduled closing time to complete the closing transaction.
- Please do not bring any additional parties to the closing unless they are required to sign closing documents.
Post-Closing Disinfecting: After each closing, the chairs, table and door handles will be wiped down with disinfecting wipes or bleach solution.
Closing Table Items: All parties will be provided with new signing pens. Please keep your pen after the closing. New pens will be distributed at each closing. All other table items, e.g. paper, extra reading glasses, paper clips, will be removed from the closing table.
Lobby Items: All reading materials, ceramic mugs and other re-usable items have been removed.
